About Roots & Home
I didn’t start this because I had life figured out.
I started it because I was tired of rushing through a life I actually loved.
As my kids got older, life got louder. Fuller. Faster.
Sports, schedules, mental load, the constant feeling of being “on.”
On paper, everything was fine — but inside, I felt maxed out. My brain was full. My nervous system was fried. And I couldn’t shake the feeling that I was missing my own life while trying to keep it running.
I didn’t want to cancel my life.
I just wanted it to feel lighter inside.
So I started asking different questions.
What if calm wasn’t about doing less — but about being better supported?
What if my home wasn’t something to manage — but somewhere I could land?
What if life could stay full… without feeling frantic?
That’s where Roots & Home was born.
This is a space for moms who want to live slower inside real life.
Who want their homes to feel like a place they can exhale — even when the calendar is packed.
Who are done chasing perfect routines and instead want systems, rhythms, and mindsets that don’t fall apart when chaos shows up.
I believe in strong roots.
In building days that can bend without breaking.
In fueling your body, simplifying your mind, and creating a home that holds you instead of drains you.
You won’t find perfection here.
You’ll find honesty. Practical systems. Gentle perspective shifts. And a quieter way of moving through busy days.
This isn’t about escaping your life.
It’s about learning how to be steady inside it.
Welcome home.

I am a homebody at heart. I love being at home and creating a cozy environment for myself and my family. My faith is most important to me. I'm a mom of two kids ages 10 & 13, and I've been married to my husband for 17 years. Together we live on a small-ish island in the Pacific Northwest on 5 acres surrounded by trees. We have two dogs, two cats, two rabbits, and 12 chickens. I love animals, nature, and photography. I also frequent our local thrift stores and love decorating our home with cozy thrifted finds. Nothing beats a good cup of tea in a cute mug, a good book, and chasing sunsets.
